Every so often I’d like to take off the marketer/consultant hat and sit across from you and have a nice little chat just about
life as an entrepreneur. Is that alright? Let’s do this…
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, there has recently been a little dust up about a, um, certain president saying the following:
If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.
Um, right.
Can we forget the political labels, the R or D, conservative vs progressive and loosen our ties or kick off our heels and have a real talk for a moment?
Creating and maintaining a lasting, scalable and profitable business is hard work. Hard blood-sweat-and-tears, crying-with-snot-running-out-your-nose, calloused, sleepless, mascara-running work.
I’ve given up a thousand different times in my head, but somehow I stumble out of bed the next morning, sleep-deprived, and get right back to it. Why? Because my clients depend on me and the end goal will make it all worth it.
My clients are hard working business owners. They’re creative, resilient, compassionate and patient people. I am eternally grateful for their confidence and the opportunity to know them. My passion and heart is in the business community! Just being in their presence is an honor to me. They inspire me to keep pressing forward – if for no other reason than to help them reap the benefits of their hard work.
Yes, YOU did it! You fought through the negativity – not just from others, but even the junk in your own head (You know what I’m talking about!). YOU put your money and family on the line for a dream. YOU worked late hours after everyone already left or went to bed. YOU contracted or hired people who just might have needed a break so they can feed their family and stay in their house. YOU took a chance on another new entrepreneur and inspired her to keep going on when the going got tough.
Yes, YOU did it!
Thank you.
